Nsibidi is a pictogram language that was introduced during the 5th century. It is composed of around 1000 pictograms which were drawn on the ground, the skin, masks and textile or as an artistic expression. This dedicated Sarong Collection is paying tribute to this beautiful cultural heritage.
In yellow, the OWAWA sarongs represented wıth a cheetah on ıts background, and Nsibidi symbols and colors remaining the landscape where the savanna meets the rainforest. OWAWA means “cheetah”.
The sarong is very versatile and multi-purposed. It’s clothing, it’s a blanket, it’s a towel, it’s a privacy screen, a swim cover up, a bed sheet, a baby blanket, a scarf, a ceremonial dress, a beach blanket, home decor and so on!
